6. They have certain expectations

People tend to assume that once they’re in a relationship, that person is everything to them: parent, friend, family, therapist, lover, and everything else you can think of.

But being in a relationship doesn’t mean that you should put all of your problems on your significant other’s chest. Of course, you help and support each other because that’s what couples do, but when you overwhelm those around you with your issues, things aren’t good.

So if you feel like your partner always wants you to behave in a certain way because otherwise they feel hurt, that’s another sign of manipulation you have to pay attention to.
