1. Projecting emotions
This is something all of us do, and sometimes it can become pretty harmful. But, as with any other experience, there is a lot to learn from this one.
First of all, we need to understand what projection is. This is a coping mechanism in which you displace your feelings toward a different person or object. This is a way our brains are trying to deal with negative emotions that we can no longer handle.
So, if you are dreaming of a deceased relative and they treat you badly in the dream or express any other negative feelings toward you, there is a high chance you are just projecting.
This means that the attitude of the deceased person and the things that they are telling you could reflect the feelings you have about yourself. It’s possible for this projection to be situational and based on a particular incident, but it may also be more general in nature.
