The simplest way to get started with numerology is to examine your own date of birth. In order to do so, you just have to do a bit of math. You’ll have to take away the digits until you only have single-digit numbers left. Make sure to exclude numbers 11 and 22, as they are considered master numbers. This one digit that remains after this whole process is considered to be your unique Life Path Number.

This special number is much like your Sun Sign in astrology and it exposes your identity, such as your talents, aspirations, strengths, and weaknesses. Besides that, this shows the tone of your experiences and the reasons why things happened in the past, why are they happening now, and what will happen in the future.

Let’s take an example: let’s suppose that your birth is on August 18, 1978. In order to calculate your Life Path Number, you will reduce each one of these to a single digit:

• the month, 8, is a single digit, so it remains as it is: 8;
• the date, 18, is reduced to something simpler: 1+8=9;
• the year, 1978, is also reduced to 1+9+7+8. This means 25, which we’ll reduce to 2+5=7.
• then we sum the reduced date, month, as well as year numbers, so we have 8+9+7=24. We reduce the number to 2+4=6, so your Life Path Number is 6.
