4. Don’t try to change them

Don’t hang out with a narcissist in the hopes of influencing them to change for the better; it’s not going to happen! The reality is that all narcissists are very resistant to change, and dealing with them is like pouring water into a funnel: the positive and supportive words you tell them flow out of it like you were never there. And that’s because they never listened in the first place!

No matter how many times you affirm a narcissist, they will always need more because they don’t believe they can have a genuine connection with anyone. Even if this has roots in an old unresolved trauma, no matter how hard you try to make them feel safe with you, they will always end up saying goodbye.
