What Does Your Chinese Astrology Sign Say About You?

Do you know what your Chinese astrology sign says about you?

We’ve talked about zodiac signs many times on this website, but this time we’ll take it up a notch and discover what the Chinese astrology says about you. Whether you believe in the stars or not, knowing how they can affect your life, relationships, and career is still nice.

So, before we talk about what your Chinese astrology sign says about you, we need to understand what this special zodiac is in the first place. Known as Shengxiao (“born resembling”), the Chinese zodiac is a repeating cycle of 12 years, each one being represented by a different animal: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

In contrast to Western astrology, which is decided by the ever-changing movements of the planets, Chinese astrology is based on birth year; an Ox is always an Ox, even though the characteristics of a Water Ox, a Fire Ox, and a Water Dragon, respectively, will be somewhat different from one another. What does your animal sign reveal about you? Let’s find out together!

1. Rabbit

Birth years: 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023

Next year of the Rabbit: 2035

If you’re born in Rabit years, you surely are a kind, intelligent, and docile person. At least that’s what your Chinese astrology sign says about you. Sources say that Rabbits might not get along with Snakes, but they’ll be great friends with Monkeys, Dogs, Pigs, and Goats.

Moreover, what’s interesting about this Chinese astrology sign is that it symbolizes calmness, peace, beauty, mercy, and elegance, and many consider this to be the luckiest out of all the twelve animals.

So, Rabbit babies, here’s the question: do you consider yourself lucky?

2. Dragon

Birth years: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024

Next year of the Dragon: 2036

Chinese astrology says that Dragons are very important for their culture, as they’re enthusiastic, full of energy, and warmhearted. In Chinese culture, this sign symbolizes strength, good luck, health, and also the male element Yang.

If you’re born in one of the Dragon years, you’re more likely to get along with Roosters, Rats, and Monkeys.

3. Snake

Birth years: 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013

Next year of the Snake: 2025

If you’re born in one of these Snake years, astrology experts say that you’re a mini Dragon. You’re probably curious, mysterious, determined, good at talking, smart, and wise, but you can also be greedy and jealous at times.

Moreover, you’re also hard-working and goal-driven; you value knowledge; and you’re very invested in your relationships. As for other Chinese astrology signs you get along with, we can mention Roosters and Dragons.

4. Horse

Birth years: 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014

Next year of the Horse: 2026

Did you know that the horse has been one of the most popular animals in our history? That’s why he is considered a leader and a very generous person. Astrologers say horses are free-spirited, energetic, incredibly smart, adaptable, and social butterflies.

Moreover, you probably value passion in relationships, kindness, and independence, and you love to bring warmth, love, and excitement to every interaction you have. If you’re looking for a Chinese astrology sign to get along with, Goats, Tigers, and Rabbits have the potential to be your friends.

5. Goat

Birth years of the Goat: 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015

Next year of the Goat: 2027

Do you consider yourself a leader or a follower? According to astrologers, the Goat Chinese astrology sign is all about following strong-minded people. Goat individuals are gentle, strong, determined, persistent, kind, loving, and popular. So, my dear friend, the stars say that you’ll get along amazingly with a Rabbit, Horse, or Pig.

6. Monkey

Birth years of the Monkey: 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016

Next year of the Monkey: 2028

Monkey is a Chinese astrology sign that’s all about humor and making friends with people. You’re an energetic and playful person, and you have a magnetic aura that draws people to you like moths to flames. You’ll get along well with a patient Ox and a kind and lovely Rabbit.

7. Rooster

Birth years: 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017

Next year of the Rooster: 2029

The Rooster, a Chinese astrology sign associated with dependability and stability, can be used both literally and figuratively to set one’s clock. Roosters typically perform exceptionally well in Ox years, and they’re people you can always count on.

Moreover, they’re also incredibly entertaining and brave. Since they’re confident, proud, and love to strut through life like it’s their birthright (and it’s good they do so), they go well with the Ox and Snake.

8. Dog

Birth years: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018

Next year of the Dog: 2030

The Dog sign is exactly how you’d imagine a pup to be: funny, lovely, cute, selfless, playful, and loyal. Since these people are always ready to help those in need, they’re prudent, considerate, sincere, and hard-working, they will make great friends or partners with someone who’s just as kind as them, such as a Rabbit.

9. Pig

Birth years: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019

Next year of the Pig: 2031

The Pig is amiable, joyful, straightforward, and powerful. They might even be the happiest sign in the zodiac. Is that true? Let us know in the comments below! Even though it finished last in the emperor’s race, the pig is still a formidable beast. 2019 was the Earth Pig year, which was supposed to offer stability, prosperity, and opportunity.

Was that year good for you? If you have any stories you’d like to share with us, feel free to write them in the comments! Let’s chat! If this Chinese astrology sign is looking for a bestie, they’ll be pleased to see Tigers, Rabbits, and Goats.

10. Rat

Birth years of the Rat: 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020

Next year of the Rat: 2032

The 10th Chinese astrology sign we’re going to talk about now represents prosperity, wisdom, and wealth. The Rat marks the beginning of the 12-year cycle since it’s believed to have been the first animal to arrive when the Jade Emperor summoned the animals to determine the zodiac signs. He managed to succeed by riding on the back of the Ox and jumping off in time to cross the finish line.

With that being said, those born under this Chinese astrology sign take great satisfaction in their remarkable intelligence. It so happens that Rat gets along best with Ox, Dragon, and Monkey.

11. Ox

Birth years: 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021

Next year of the Ox: 2033

The Ox was the Chinese astrology sign that ended up in second place in the Emperor’s game and is considered to be very determined, hard-working, patient, and generous. Moreover, Ox people are reliable, practical, and very loyal, and their best matches are rats, snakes, and roosters.

12. Tiger

Birth years: 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022

Next year of the Tiger: 2034

We’re at the end of our list of Chinese astrology signs, and this time we have to talk about the Tiger. Compared to other cultures, in the Chinese one, the tiger is considered the king of the jungle, as opposed to the lion.

People who are born in these special years are powerful, adventurous, dramatic, and sometimes even cocky, and that might be because this sign is associated with respect and power.

There you have it, these are all the Chinese astrology signs. What animal symbolizes you? Let us know in the comments below! If you’re into astrology and want to dive deeper into the subject, here’s a good book for you: The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes.
