The 7 Universal Laws of the Universe and How to Use Them

September 1, 2025 · Spirituality

The Law of Attraction: A Closer Look

Of all the universal laws, the Law of Attraction is the most famous. It is often presented as a combination of the other laws, particularly the Laws of Mentalism and Vibration. The core idea is that “like attracts like”—your thoughts and feelings attract similar experiences into your life.

If you focus on abundance and joy, you will attract more of it. If you focus on lack and negativity, you will attract more of that.

For those exploring how to use the law of attraction for beginners, it’s essential to approach it with gentleness and realism. It is not a magic wand. You cannot simply think about a winning lottery ticket and have it appear.

To do so ignores the complex realities of life and can lead to self-blame when desired outcomes don’t materialize.

A healthier way to engage with this law is to see it as a tool for clarifying your intentions and cultivating a more positive mindset. When you focus on what you want to create in your life—more peace, better relationships, a sense of purpose—you prime your brain to notice opportunities that align with those goals.

This is a well-documented psychological phenomenon; our brains are wired to filter information and show us what we’ve told them is important.

Here is a simple, grounded way to practice this principle without pressure or magical thinking.

A 7-Day Gentle Gratitude Practice to Align Your Focus:

Instead of focusing on what you lack, spend this week focusing on what you have. Each day, take five minutes to write down your response to the prompt. Day one, find three things in your home that you are grateful for. Day two, recall a happy memory and write down how it made you feel.

Day three, acknowledge a personal strength you possess. Day four, notice something beautiful in nature on a walk or looking out your window. Day five, think of a person who has helped you and send them a silent ‘thank you’ in your mind.

Day six, appreciate a simple comfort, like a warm cup of tea or a comfortable bed. Day seven, reflect on one lesson you’ve learned that has made you wiser. This practice gently shifts your focus—your vibration—toward appreciation and abundance, which can naturally invite more positive experiences.
