Heredity

Whether we like it or not, heredity plays a major role in the formation of our personality. As you already know, genes pass down all sorts of inherited features to succeeding generations.

Gregor Mendel, for instance, was a scientist who discovered the main principles of heredity. He didn’t have the proper equipment at first, so he started his experiments with pea plants. However, after a while, he discovered a lot of useful things about genes and DNA.

Mendel developed an idea about dominant and recessive genes, and he believed that these factors are actually the carriers of hereditary qualities since they preserve the integrity, unique constitution, and properties from one generation to the next. For example, children can pick up different traits from their parents, such as complexion, intelligence, physique, talents, aptitudes, and even behaviors.
