Imagine having a creaky old chair that slowly moves back and forth in a dark, abandoned room in your home.

Can you picture it? Well, then it won’t be hard to understand why so many superstitious people would prefer their chairs firmly on the floor.

There’s even an Irish legend about an empty rocking chair that was seen as an invitation for bad spirits to take a seat.

According to that legend, if a chair moves on its own, then it’s a telltale sign that a particular entity has already taken a seat. Why would you risk ruining your house’s balanced energy just for a chair?
