Let’s imagine something: you and the person you love get into a fight. It doesn’t matter what the cause was, who was the one who was angrier, or who said what.
When the whole thing is over, your significant other says that they feel horrible and heartbroken, and they can’t believe that you’d do something so mean to them—although they weren’t very nice to you either.
See? That demonstrates a lack of empathy and manipulation. They can’t see their own mistakes and don’t understand why things happened, but they put the blame on you, making you feel bad and responsible for everything that went down.
