#6 Try some birdwatching
Without something to keep them engaged, it can be challenging for children to remain still for a longer period of time. Because of their quickness and bright colors, birds are excellent at grabbing children’s attention.
If you don’t already have one, think about installing a bird feeder in your yard and getting a pair of binoculars. You might want to visit your local library to borrow books about the local wildlife and see what birds you can find in your area.
Then it’s just a matter of waiting. Take turns describing each bird after they start to arrive, which might also take some time. You can even take pictures of every bird that comes to visit if you like. You can take it a step beyond and use the images to create a joint scrapbook.
