#6 You’ve experienced trauma
More people than you can imagine have experienced some form of trauma, whether it was bullying, the death of someone close to them, or other heinous experiences such as assault and accidents. Unknown to many is the way in which trauma affects people and the way they can relate to others.
It can also happen that trauma starts showing its effects years after an event has happened. What’s more, it can also happen physically, not only at a mental level, and it can end up impacting every aspect of your life.
While it may be hard, the best way to avoid having past trauma ruin your present is to go to therapy as soon as you can. This also includes trauma related to microaggressions or racial trauma.
