You are most definitely not alone if it no longer feels real to define oneself by any organized religion! It happened to me as well, because there was a time in the past after my spouse passed away when I felt the need to spend most of the time alone to grieve in silence. I disconnected myself from the church to which I belong, but at the same time I felt the need to become more spiritual than ever. With the risk of being judged by others, I tried to put myself first, and for the first time in my life, I felt authentic and more alive than ever.
