1. They want prompt gratification
Just like we’ve previously said, these people are completely self-absorbed and self-centered, and they expect others to give them instant gratification in order to feel good.
This might range from expecting you to answer their calls or texts as soon as you receive them, to compelling you to do things exactly how they want (interpersonally, socially, and even intimately, basically, they want your life to evolve in a way that pleases them.).
An easy way to make sure if the person you’re dating is a potential narcissist or not is to gently tell them ”no” or “I need some time to think about it” to a demand you’re not very okay with, and see how your date reacts.
If they do everything they can to convince you to do things their way and won’t let you up or start to get angry or irritated, take some notes, because that’s a red flag.
My father was a confirmed narcissist. I spent my entire life trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. He constantly put myself and others down. I can’t describe how hard it was to deal with being led to believe I was not as good as others. If you are in a relationship with one get out of it soon as you can. Run don’t walk away.

I was with my then-husband for 20 years after a 5-year depression It turned out in 2021 he started an affair and told me in late 2022. then told me he wanted us to be in a polyamorous relationship with this guy. After a suicide attempt. then left me a week later I continue to live in our home with his sick father who he barely sees and he’s not able to communicate with me. he can’t control me and he’s afraid of me and it’s frustrating.

I was married to a person that you have just described. He falls into every one of your categories. He was fired from his job b/c of the way he talked to and treated other employees. I divorced him, and he nearly went off the rails.
