#1 Giving too much information
Too much information may indicate lying. People who are lying sometimes go overboard with the details because they want you to accept what they’re saying and avoid becoming suspicious. People will divulge more information than is needed because they have created a whole story and feel it is necessary to do so in order to make it more credible.
Sometimes they might become confused if you return for clarification or pose more difficult questions, and the story might also change. Even little, subtle changes in a story can signal a lie, such as when someone claims they did something that doesn’t make sense. Complete story changes are obviously a red flag that someone could not be speaking the truth.
