
6. Spend time outside
It might sound a little bit hard to believe, but spending time outdoors can have a great impact on your mood. Therapists say that being outside can improve people’s moods and help them feel more relaxed or energized, depending on the type of activity they engage in.
Midlife patients are frequently advised by therapists to go for at least a couple of weekly walks outside. You don’t exactly have to walk around your neighborhood every single day to get some fresh air and a bit of exercise.
Think about stepping out of your comfort zone and checking out some trails or neighborhoods you’ve never been to. Ask your partner and your friends to join you, so you can catch up, detoxify your minds and get your steps in at the same time.
If you don’t like to walk or you’re bored of sitting in your yard, you can go camping, swimming, or boating. Don’t forget that it’s important to get that vitamin D!
