People that drain your mental energy are known as energy vampires. They take advantage of your willingness to pay attention to and take care of them, leaving you worn out and overburdened.
Anywhere and anyone could be an energy vampire. Your spouse or close friend could be them. They might be your neighbor or your coworker.
Although it’s tempting to feel bitter against energy vampires, it’s important to keep in mind that they haven’t yet gained the ability to handle their problems. People who are energy vampires prey on others because they suffer. You must keep in mind, though, that you are not in charge of finding a solution to their problems.
You must master the art of establishing boundaries and knowing where to “draw the line” with these folks. You may find it challenging to engage in self-nurturing and assertiveness if you are unable to recognize the various energy vampires in your life.
